◣ dazai ◥ :

IN HIS ARMS he carried a small bundle of white calla lilies he obtained sometime earlier today. To anyone who had come to know Dazai ( even for the smallest amount of time ) would know that the underlying symbolism suited the man to a Tee. If it were anyone else it would be an odd sight it would be to see these ‘ petalless ‘ flowers when no such appropriate even was taking place.

❝ You think so?( He didn’t see it. )

❝ I don’t really know, I think some anonymous person sent them. ❞ Despite how untrustworthy as he appeared he be, Dazai was a man of no lies. And to be frank, tt was quite unusual, to him, to receive flowers, but hey, it may be different from what he was used to but he won’t complain.

❝ Hey, did you know? I read these flowers are poisonous actually! ❞ Oh yes, he had done his research, but don’t be mistaken now, he has no intention of actually eating them ; he’d already tried going out via poison ( a mushroom, not a flower but details, details … ) Besides, he was already aware of what would happen if he dared eat them raw, and to be frank, it seemed like quite a PAINFUL experience, and that is not the way he wants to go.

◣ ✿ ◥ All flowers were, in Kyouka’s eyes, beautiful, and it’d be a difficult task to convince her otherwise; after all, she wasn’t referred to as a flower girl because she was picky with them. They all held a certain charm and beauty, but she supposed other people were more biased than she was. Some cared only for the aesthetics or only for the meaning. Dazai seemed to fall into the latter category: he preferred flowers that symbolised death.

Either way, anonymously sending someone flowers that meant death gave a very distinct message. Kyouka wasn’t surprised. He must have made a lot of enemies over the years, but at least he could handle stuff like that.

“I do think so, and I did know that.” She knew a lot about flowers. “So are veratrum and many others, though not always to humans. There’s a flowering tree called cerbera oddollum that’s nicknamed ‘the suicide tree,’ actually. The poison in it paralyses the heart.” That probably wasn’t the best information to tell a suicide freak about, but a) he could find out on his own, and b) he was fine even after so many attempts despite how fragile human lives were.

She figured out a better theme for presents, at least.
