He looks towards the former member of the mafia, not surprised at the answer she gave him. He scoffs slightly, leaning down towards her with an annoyed look on his face.
❝ Look at you. They have brainwashed you so quickly. What I did gave you value–– you thinking that you can just suddenly change your fate is almostpriceless, but now it’s just sad at how much you believe it. ❞
After the words leave his mouth, his hand is suddenly placed on the top of her head, almost as if he was commanding her around once more. His face grew dark as he leaned in towards her ear, his words dripping with venom–––
❝ Whenever you want to give your ability value once more, I’ll happily take you back under my wing. ❞
◣ ✿ ◥ “They weren’t the ones who–” she began almost immediately, only to seize up at the hand on her head. As much as she hated to admit it (and before then, it hadn’t been much of an issue), he still held power over her. The effects of brainwashing didn’t fade so easily, and his actions kept her mouth shut because she knew what he was capable of; she was so used to him being the one who controlled her ability, of being the one who decided Demon Snow’s next victim. It took too long for her to remember that wasn’t the case anymore.
Her fingers curled up to press nails into her palms as her hands trembled at her sides. If it came down to it, could she beat him? She knew too well what happened every attempt of hers to do just that ended, so she didn’t want to provoke an actual fight. She shouldn’t have said anything to begin with.
“It’s not true.” Her voice shook despite her extra effort to keep it steady. “I have value without killing. I do.”
