♠ No sooner had he walked out the building, suitcase in hand– as he was working on a transaction for the Mafia that day as well– Chuuya’s hat caught a drift and flew off his head. Uttering a little annoyed clicking noise at the back of his mouth, auburn hair flickering around his face, he picked up speed to follow where it fell. He barely even took the time to glance at the people he wove around, and they didn’t have much of a moment to spare to look at him– in an act of such determination, Chuuya’s pretty hard to catch. There are some pluses to being that small and lithe, he liked to remind himself.
Grunting and swerving around a truck (rather precariously) he finally reached his prized garment’s landing location, screeching to a halt. “Jeez! Stupid breeze…What the hell’s up with today’s weather, anyway…” He muttered, though his voice does trail off as he realizes just who is holding the item in question, blue eyes widening in surprise.
“Ah…Kyouka-chan.” He exlaims softly, squinting and glancing to the side awkwardly, not entirely sure what to do about this unexpected meeting.
◣ ✿ ◥ No wonder she recognised the hat. She stiffened at the voice of the man who rounded the corner in search of the item. The last thing she intended for the day was a run-in with the Port Mafia, but at least it seemed to be an accident rather than her being targeted. Nothing about his demeanor screamed aggression, and if he meant harm, there were better ways of going about it. So it was unexpected on both ends; with luck, that meant she could get the interaction over with and they could part ways once more.
“Chuuya-san,” she said in return, fortunately managing to keep her voice steady despite her unease. If nothing else, at least it was Chuuya and not someone like Akutagawa or Kouyou. That made it easier to force some semblance of calmness. It took another moment to remember that she still held his hat, and another moment to get her feet to move forward to return it to him. Once she managed that, she held the item out for him to take. “Here.”
There! Once he accepted, there’d be no reason to stay together–a perfect plan. Based on the suitcase he held, he was obviously busy and had far better things to do than confront a traitor.
