Kyouka nodded when he thanked her, though the gratitude wasn’t necessary. Since he’d bought her candy before, it was only fair that she return the favour at some point. She didn’t forget that sort of thing either.

She did, however, accept the fork. It wasn’t in her nature to turn down cake, though she’d make sure to let him have most of it. “It’s good.” While she herself wasn’t great with words, she figured she ought to say something in return. Still, she’d already known that the cake would be good because she’d gotten it before. She wouldn’t risk getting someone subpar cake for their birthday.
